Helping your child thrive in everyday life
Pediatric occupational therapy services in Boisbriand
At Clinique Ergo Enfance, we help your child develop practical tools to better navigate daily life, in a supportive environment that respects their unique reality.
Who is occupational therapy for?
The services are intended for children who experience challenges in one or more of the following areas:
Fine or gross motor skills
Writing and handwriting
Feeding difficulties
Sensory challenges
ADHD – Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Autism spectrum disorder
Global developmental delay
Services typically follow an occupational therapy assessment or begin with a referral from another professional (pediatrician, neuropsychologist, family doctor).
What is an occupational therapy assessment?
An occupational therapy assessment helps us better understand your child and what they experience in their day-to-day life.
We look at how your child functions in everyday activities such as play, writing, eating, hygiene, staying organized at school, and managing sensory input.
The assessment includes guided activities, observations, and conversations with you as a parent. It helps us get a clear picture of your child’s strengths, challenges, and needs.
You will receive a detailed report that can also support other professionals (such as a pediatrician, neuropsychologist, or psychologist) in understanding your child and planning next steps.
Important: Occupational therapists do not provide diagnoses, but their assessment can play an important role in helping other professionals reach one.
What does an assessment involve?
Each step is designed to guide you in a clear and reassuring way.

You will receive a written report. A follow-up meeting is then scheduled to review the results and discuss personalized recommendations together.

A supportive and reassuring environment
Our spaces are designed to encourage exploration, play, and development in a safe and comforting setting for both children and parents. Every detail is thoughtfully planned so your family feels at ease from the moment you arrive.
What does a session look like?
Through play and engaging activities, Janice works on the foundational skills needed for daily functioning: strength, balance, coordination, fine motor skills, sensory processing, and the integration of primitive reflexes.
These foundational skills then support meaningful activities such as crawling, climbing, maintaining posture, riding a bike, coloring, cutting, writing, staying organized at school, eating or any other activity that matters to the child and their family.
Parents are an important part of the process. Home programs may be recommended to help support progress between sessions.
Approaches used
Sensory Integration
Some children can easily feel overwhelmed by sounds, textures, or lights. Sensory integration helps the nervous system better organize this information so the child can function more calmly and effectively.
Motor Learning
ABC Boum is a structured and playful program designed specifically for children who struggle with writing. It works on fine motor skills, letter memory, and the fluidity of handwriting.
CO-OP Approach
Rather than directly teaching a skill, the CO-OP approach guides the child to develop their own strategies to succeed. This approach is particularly effective for children with dyspraxia or ADHD.
Neurodevelopment
This approach focuses on developing motor control and posture in children whose nervous system presents specific challenges, such as cerebral palsy or other conditions.
Sensory-Motor Stimulation
By combining sensory input with motor activities, this approach helps children coordinate their movements and develop a better awareness of their body in space.
Primitive Reflexes
Some reflexes present at birth should naturally integrate over time. Gentle, repetitive movements help support this integration and unlock the child’s full potential.
